Is there a good shop in Dordrecht? it's a good excuse to go there on the train and photograph the harbour and the Dom
Well they don't have a lot like I said but the service is just good and they will always help you as much as they can. There knowledge about Pentax isn't that great though but they do stock the K20D with the basic lenses 18-55, 16-45. the other basic lenses are with the suplier so they have it in 2 days in the shop for you to test it out.

Btw the Dom is in Utrecht, we have the Grote Kerk
The harbour is certainly also nice and a hike through the Biesbosch will complete the trip.
If you ever find the excuse to come give me a note and I'll give you a tour if you want, I'm a real sheephead afterall

Is this the shop in Den Haag? link it used to be called Combi Focus but they recently changed their name.
Looks very good and I like the print service, might give them a try sometime.

Gwyn, I sometimes go hiking near your place with another Pentaxian. She's also quite a veteran and she wouldn't mind if you join us that way you can field test some of my lenses. I know I don't have much yet but still just give me a PM if you wanna test some or simply want to get out the door

Hello Dave,

I drove to Park Cameras to purchase my K20D.

I was unable to buy locally, and as I wanted a good look at the camera before purchase, it meant driving from Essex To West Sussex
You'd have been better off driving to Watford
What, and miss all that lovely countryside, I don't think so.

Hi,

For an ever increasing number of people, even those who live in very large urban areas it is simply impossible to shop locally.

I live in Walsall, West Mids, population 166,000 (13th largest UK town) and there is just one very small poor Jessops...choice Canon or Nikon...not that I would buy from them anyway.

Birmingham, about 8 miles away..pop approx 2 MILLION and yet central B'ham has only one Jessops and one Jacobs...no Pentax's to be seen in either...so you see the problem..it is quite bizarre that many people in small towns out in the sticks often have more choice than the whole of the second largest UK city.

cheers Steve.M.

Well the simple answer is I would shop locally if I could afford to, and there was a decent dealer who knew what they were talking about!
Sadly like most things these days it’s gone out to retail outlets/hyper markets that have no hands on experience.
have you tried Charles Eagles, branches at Sunderland and Durham. According to the blurb they are a Pentax Pro Dealer.
