Hi All

I have a Manfrotto 190XPROB with a 804RC2 & 488RC2 heads.
My K10D is approx 700g, so when using it with either the 16-45 365g or 55-300 440g will the tripod be adequate and sturdy enough to take the weight especially when photographing landscapes.
If not what do you recommend (can't afford carbon).
I did have a 055PROB but sold it as it was rather heavy to carry about i'm now beginning to regret selling it.

The 190XROB will hold 5kg. The 804RC2 head weighs 750g and can hold 4kg. So in theory the tripod can take the weight, as can the head. The ball head weighs 670g and will hold 8kg.
Only you know though whether you feel confident with the tripod, and feel it is steady enough.
Have a look at other makes, like Velbon for slightly cheaper carbon tripods - you can still use the Manfrotto heads on them.

I'm currently looking for another tripod too, mainly for when hiking..I currently have a Velbon Luxi F for this reason and whilst it's pretty good it's not really as sturdy as I would like...

after a bit of reading "Redsnapper" get very good comments on another forum and I'm going to give one a try, prices are very reasonable

Here's a link..

I don't really want to change it as i've only had it for a short while. i've not really been able to put it to a proper test yet. I just wanted to know if anyone else has a similar situation amd what they think.
