Share your lockdown photography projects

As quarantine forces most of us to restrict where we can do and to spend the majority of our time in our own homes, I thought it would be good to share ideas for photography projects that we can still do under these restrictions.

Limitation is the mother of creativity, they say, so what can we come up with?

So far, photography of my sixteen-month-old daughter continues much as before. The biggest difference is that I mostly use a 35mm lens instead of 23mm because we're at my parents-in-laws' place and they have more space than we have in our own flat.

Other than that, yesterday I broke out one of my two Yashica Mat 124Gs and took some photos, mostly of the outside world, through the viewfinder using the K-3 and DA 35mm Limited. I've always liked through-the-viewfinder photos and I suspect I might get quite a lot of fun out of it.

A wander around the garden yesterday with the D-FA 50mm Macro on the K1, all at f2.8. In Lightroom a strong vignette was apparent but rather than doing a lens correction I actually preferred it as it came.

I've been doing some flower photography as seen on another thread.

Natural light with two black tiles, very simply produced

Breathtaking images from all of you, so great to see.

Unfortunately both my front and rear gardens are in a state of flux so there isn't much worth snapping other than grass and dirt. I was hoping to get these sorted over the summer but I think a lot of the hassle will be around getting non essential plants and shrubs :/

I cheated and purchased a bunch of mixed flowers from a local supermarket, gave them to the misses then pinched a load to shoot

Chrism8 I really like that shiny black tile effect, I’m hunting around the house now to find something that would do the job!

Hi Rob

They were two black tiles I purchased from Tile Giant a few years ago, cost about £4 for the 2, these ones are 300mm Sq, here's the setup.

You could try ordering to via " click and collect " from Wickes or a tile shop if theres one open nr you.

Ignore the flash transmitter, not used on that shot, or the roses

I have been making use of this lovely sunshine and my acers which are just starting to break into leaf. The early light is almost horizontal.
This is a young plant in a pot which was strategically placed to produce a nice bokeh when photographed with a 200mm Takumar at f3.5

Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass
