Second outing with a 77mm.

I'm still working with the 77mm Ltd. I intend to push this lens as far as my K7 can push it.

So far? The 77mm Ltd is not a lens for the casual shooter. It seems very capable and can exaggerate any weakness in the focus system on a K7. For those that use a Katz eye screen and manual focus, it's a lens that can give 100%.

I feel that I need more time and better light to squeeze the best from this lens. So far, it's been a pleasure to use.

The FOV seems just too tight in some situations, that said, to be aware of its requirements is to be prepared and thus requires more thought about the shot.

I like the way you captured the baby's eyes and the way it's looking around.The last one is pretty good to.Trial and error like you say.

Its just getting used to the FIV Don. Some of the above are cropped in slightly. My main concern at the moment is the indoor light focus on the K7. It's not always correct. I'm aware of it and try to refocus as required.

Just about to order a KatzEye screen for it.

I suspect this is not the ideal lens for you, and the FOV of a 55mm would suit you better. On a DSLR the 77mm really comes into its own with tight portraits.

Also, the real quality of the lens won't be seen in relatively harsh and constrasty outdoor light. Wait until the evening if you want to shoot outdoors.

But I am glad you are enjoying it. You won't find anything better!

There will be better subject matter soon George. The above shots were a few out of desperation on Sunday afternoon. The weather has actually been atrocious here but this weekend forecast is looking good.

I'll work with it and learn its ways.
