Thanks for that George, I told Tracey to post here as she wanted some C+C from the forum members, which you don't always get in the Gallery..

I'm not upset!

As for the photo, I'm sorry to say that it doesn't work for me, but perhaps I am missing a connection.

It was obviously a nice day, and the pic is decently exposed and nice and sharp, but the windmills don't seem to have any obvious relevance to the lifeboats, and there is a lot of empty sea and sky.

Is there a story?

I agree with George, there's nothing wrong from a technical point of view but the composition doesn't do it for me I'm afraid.

Now if you'd caught them the other side of the windmills it might have looked like they were blowing the boats along, and that would have made for a better picture IMO.

Still, there's always the next time and I'm sure you'll get good practice with your new lens. I've just ordered one from Jessops at a ridiculously low price so I'm quite looking forward to trying it out too

A sunny day in North Wales is worth commenting on - I live here and don't remember any of those recently.

Whereabouts were you visiting?

Hi woodworm,
we were in Prestatyn (probably spelt wrong, sorry]. We went to pick up camera kit from a forum member and spent the rest of the day sight seeing. Not been to Wales since i was a little girl so brought lots of happy memories back! Very proud of my Welsh half!
