Hi all. How quiet are these lenses as I have a da55-300 lens that's to noisey for wildlife photos.what options are there or do I have to invest in Nikon ultrasonic.? Sorry for asking this question just get a bit frustrated.

SDM and DC lenses are virtually silent. The 55-300mm is quite noisy.

Look at some of the wildlife photographs on here and look at what equipment was used for the capture. I think you will find what you are looking for.

The 300 DA star F4 with or without tele adapter is effectively silent (quieter than the DC motored 18 - 135 DA WR I also own) . No hunting around either as 55 300mm. I'm still learning to use this fabulous lens but love it.
