When are the xmas markets on in Edinburgh, good excuse to get the wife to agree to a long weekend, I could meet you lot and the wife can go shopping (again)

Think Ken was heading to the Burrell today to check on tripods , lighting etc

I can't make it before spring. But don't let me stop you all getting together.

OK, inside the Burrell Collection (Glasgow City Council) amateur photography for personal use, without tripod or flash, is allowed as long as a form is filled in first. Many areas are lit by ceiling to floor windows so I wouldn't worry personally.

Pollok House (National Trust for Scotland) no interior photography unless by special arrangement outside normal opening hours and there is of course a form for the purpose! No problems outside.

OK - though I wasn't asked to fill in a form - and the K-x was hanging openly round my neck

I can do any Saturday when there isn't rugby on. Apart from December 11.

err - so what Saturday dates can you actually do [ being as how I've not been into Rugby since I was 6 years old ] ?

There is only about four hours of decent daylight in midwinter Scotland so its hardly worth people making the trek, I suggest Spring when the Rhododendrons are in bloom.

I think I concur. We could do it in March/April - especially for those who can't make it to Whitby.

I hope can do one or the other - and Scotland sounds more appealing at this point.
A lot will depend on what my husband's travel plans are for the date chosen - he is away three days out of every five at the moment, and as soon as it involves putting the pooches in the kennels it will get too expensive for me.
However since they still haven't renewed his contract who know where he'll be next year.

I have missed this one, such a busy life!!!! Sounds like a good idea. I will not be able to do 26/27 March, but don't let that be a stumbling block to all concerned.

In Pollok Estate they have one day a month when farriers shoe the big horses, the dates will be posted for the entire year at some point in late December or early January. Its a public thing so that would be more subject matter if anyone was interested.
