A simply wonderful series.

I was there in Sarajevo in 1994, for 4 months, before, during and after the Winter Olympics, made and then lost (as in never heard from again) many friends. I'll always wonder what became of them. Very poignant photos.

Some very good work there m42geo. I particularly like the shell damaged buildings. But above all it gives an insight as to what Sarajevo is like today.

The war torn building shots would go down well on one of the urbsan exploration sites.

These are outstanding photographs. As someone who has seen what violence can do and dislikes it intensely, (it frightens me), these confirm yet again the damage that war does on so many levels, in so many ways...

As Dwight D. Eisenhower said, 'I hate war as only a soldier who has lived it can, only as one who has seen its brutality, its stupidity.' Key word for me is 'stupidity'.

And yet, and yet, some of the images show hope. These are so good. Thank you.

Whilst appreciating these photographs it brings home to me the fact that as a race, we appear to have learnt nothing.

Yep. Completely agree. I also find it interesting that those who have never fought, and made sure that they and theirs never do, are invariably those who are the most gung-ho.

Fantastic series of contrasts, from normality to devastation, pointlessness and back to normality. Very well presented.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass
