This place is'nt far from where i live and i've never been there before. I was just walking along when i turned the corner and was amazed at the view.

Would it be better if you went over to the fence?

the 3 posts on the right and the fence across the middle are a bit distracting for me, they seems to be the main objects in the image.

Richard, I would be amazed, too! Lovely dappled light under the tree, and such rich colors beyond. Interesting sky.

Would like to see a larger version, or others from the same spot that day.

And ditto on the nearest fence distracting from what's already an interesting image.

I.m not sure if the picture works without the post's the idea was to give foreground interest and to lead you into the image.

In general (and I am mindful that many great images break the "rules" a fence running across an image creates exactly what it is - a barrier. This prevents our eye going beyond and spoils the flow of an image. A fence leading into an image from foreground to background would usually be more successful. Other lead-in lines are paths, rail tracks, roads, contours of the land and so on.

Looking at lots of published images is helpful and thinking about what makes them successful. The shooting lots and lots of images. Practice makes perfect!

The colours of this image are very pleasant but the scene is not very dramatic, nor is the lighting. A little work on the composition would help enormously.

On my computer I can only see a message from flickr that the image is currently unavailable.

Personally, I find Photobucket a more reliable relay station for uploading images to the Internet.

Same for me too.

The reason for not being able to view the image on Flickr is because it's been removed.

But why remove it before we have a chance to look at it?

Richard, it is a shame you have removed the photos. I didn't get to see the second one at all. I actually quite liked the first one, in spite of the fences - it gave the impression of a a forbidden paradise to me.

Thanks - I still like the first one the best. As I said to me it gives a feeling of a forbidden paradise, not of blocking the view.

I feel the second one is better, but still have doubts about the fence.
