I am trying to work out a way of running a metz 58 on a lighstand (off cmaera), triggered using a aputure trigmaster 2 remote but at the same time run another metz 58 on camera as well. That way i can switch between lightsources by switching of the trigger at my leisure. I don't think i can do this with the Aputure and wondered if anybody would be kind enough to provide some tips on how this can be achieved.

That you in advance.

I believe the cactus v5 triggers can do what you're asking... You'd need 3 tranceivers to make it work (so may as well order 2 duo packs if that's the route you plan) there's a very good review by member 'ClassA' (?) On the other forum...
You would have to order from jingling from gadget infinity... But don't let that put you off... They're very good.

Sorry re-read your post... One duo pack would work... But if you want 2 flashes off camera and ability to switch between you'd need 3 transceivers (and that would give more options)

How aout a simple photoelectric sensor slave flash trigger.

If this is put under the second flash it will trigger when the first goes off.

Will that work in a 'one-on-one-off-camera' set up with the same amount of control?

I recomended the V5 as you can use the transciever on the camera's hotshoe to trigger the 'on-cam' flash and the off camera transceiver OR just the off-cam OR just the on-cam with the flick of a dial... It's quite a clever system despite the low price and lack of (P)ttl functionality...

Sorry I mis read the original text. I thought both guns were off-camera and only one controlled by a single radio trigger.

I'll keep out of it as I know no more

Ha!

I mis-read it the first time too

I use V4's presently and although very good the V5's appear to be a pretty serious upgrade... If you have a few of them (along with flashes) the options are near limitless... Quite exciting (I'm such a geek!!)
