You are right but I don't look at that website every month to see if something changed

[K10, Metz 58 AF-1, 48 AF-1]
So, does this mean we who labour with the ANCIENT K10 do not benefit from these updates?

Yes you do. The difference is that with the older firmware the rear curtain sync did not work with the K5/Kr.

I just loaded the new firmware onto my 58-2 , biggest advantage for me is the AV settings now stay as set when you turn the unit on and off.
C&C welcome.

Old thread, but this is doing my head in. I have k5 latest version, metz 58-II latest version and I just can't get rear sync working on a manual exposure. On K7, perfect, on K5, nil points.
Anyone else have the same kit and is in a position to verify plz? Try a 2s exposure with rear sync... no joy for me at all

... just another middle-aged guy with a hobby. I have an extreme macro learning site at extreme-macro.co.uk - Pentax-centric, your feedback and comments would be appreciated!

The servo mode and support for rear curtain sync with the K-5 and K-r have been introduced for the older 58-AF1 as well through a firmware update.
