Thanks ChrisA for the offer - but I need to spend some time first trying to find out if its just Operator Error - see if I can get a reproducable scenario that it won't focus properly in first, because it only seems to happen when I'm not expecting it! Cool. that's two stops more than my K20D. if it gives the same performances at 3200 as I get from 800 on the K20D that's pretty cool indeed.
May not wonder about jumpin' ship to the Nikon D3 after all [ not that I could afford it anyway ]

And I certainly hope not. This is old tech. Pellicle cameras lose about one stop of light for the advantage of slightly faster shooting. Not worth it at all.

I hope Pentax don't go the same way, yet. I've not seen an EVF I'd be happy using instead of an optical viewfinder, but the day will come. I just don't think we're there yet, and from a usability point of view I think it would cripple the camera to an extent. I could be wrong though, will be interesting to see them.

Oh absolutely, but although video would be a 'nice to have' for me, I'd rather the viewfinder was ideal for still photography. I would however be handy for video ... better than trying to look at that ruddy LCD at arms length.

for me, it'd be a great camera.
I shoot video and stills and have become fairly good at editing in final cut.
It's been a long road trying to get my editing skills up to a level where I'm satisfied.
as it sits, I feel there's room in my camera bag for one more camera, and have really been trying to find the right one......
