Maybe the whole discussion ought to be shelved for now Stefan? You started this thread because you infringed the 'unwritten rule'. Therefore the whole thing just looks like you are being argumentative and difficult like a child who has been told off. Its impossible to have a neutral discussion when you just keep forcing the issue....

I do kind of agree that if you're not allowed to hotlink images from other sites - except of course your own images hosted on flickr etc, perhaps it ought to say so on here somewhere!

And maybe mods would be so kind as to edit hotlinked images to regular links, to avoid this sort of confrontation and so the thread still makes sense.

Thank you Will and thank you for explaining the point i'm trying to make.

It was my intention to start this next week but, I wrote something in the pointless thread and Alan (fatspider) responded to that and I again wanted to respond for that.
I didn't want to go off topic and that's why this thread got started yesterday.
Like you said not the best decision but it's done now to my spite.

C'mon Stef. you know you cant buck the system so why fight it? Your mastery oif the English is very good but you have to agree there will be a lot of misunderstanding here caused by "Lost In Translation"

Alan are you suggestion to start a new thread?

Page 3 is quite on track now.

Will put the comments about writing the rules down here, hopefully that helps.

I can not see any need for rules, guidelines have been established it is a good way for a friendly forum, if you were to have rules,in black and white, will we have forum PCs, that will bar you, fine you or confiscate your camera.

I think the moderator`s do a good job seeing the forum is run in a friendly manner, and it is a Pentax site.

There's always just that one more post....

Almost everyone seems quite happy and knows what's going on and there are no plans for any Tome of Rules.

Any further explanation only needs further explaining anyway and nobody reads rule books, or instruction manuals anyway.
And we have the first comment on this page.

Please your thoughts about THIS matter
Stefan

Or shall I spell it out.

If you allow posting of non Pentax images it would get out of hand FACT.
All members who already run two systems or have switched brands would start to post, then what happens when they tell their friends or fellow camera club members what a great forum this is? their friends join, nothing in the rules says you have to own a Pentax to join, then they start to post their images, and then theres the people who will happen across the forum by way of searches, they linger and like what they see, and as there is nothing to stop them joining and posting Canon or Nikon images they add theirs too, and so on and so on and so on, before long we are no longer a Pentax forum. SIMPLES!
Exactly.

If we use our common sense for once.
There has being a thread about how the "pentax only" rule is implemented.
https://www.pentaxuser.com/forum/topic/images-must-be-from-a-pentax-samsung-came...
As you can read it wasn't clear for them what the rule actually meant so how can we expect new members to know about this rule and how it works?
And lately one of the moderators explained the rule wrong to me.

What more signs do you need that the "pentax only" rule isn't clear to everyone?

ps. Gwyn you and some others where quite more agreeing when Jack said something about posting photos of other brand link

Stefan, you have caused a lot of unecessary pain, silliness and nonsense in this thread.

Members have complained to you and about you.

Lets just draw a line under it now.

The thread is now locked
