Rugby Grand Final

Conditions weren't easy for rugby or photography during this years Championship 1 Grand Final, I think my K5 and K7 didn't do too bad a job.
WR was definitely required.

Three very good shots there, I like the second one a lot.

because you were in exactly the right position.

Excellent set. Were these with the 60-250?

First was with DA* 300mm next two with 60-250mm.
I usually use the 300mm with a 1.7x AF converter on my K5 and the 60-250mm on my K7, but because it was so dark I couldn't use the converter so used the 300mm on my K7 and 60-250mm on K5.
Once I've saved enough pennies I'm hoping to get the new K5II.

Great set. I prefer the first one, as it displays the aggressive nature of the sport. Were these taken from a press vantage point?

Yes they were from pitchside, I'm club photographer for Barrow Raiders so got an RFL Accredited pass for the day.

It was an interesting day seeing how the press photographers work. straight to the media room after the game to upload photos to their laptop, quick edit ie. crop,contrast,sharpen and then send off to the newspapers for publication the next morning. It was a bit more relaxed for me.

Good shots. When I shot some football last season, the press guys for PA and AP where uploading from pitchside during the game. Was amazed at just how few images they send in maybe 50ish from a game...
