right angle viewfinder

Not quite sure if I'm on the right forum. But here goes, I bought a "pentax right angle viewfinder" of ebay, but it doesn't fit my k20d, it is a fraction to small to fit over the eye piece, is there any way of getting another eyepiece to put on this right angle viewfinder. The person on ebay said it came of a pentax camera when I wrote to him, but thats all I have heard from him.Thanks again for anyone who can help me.Also if I tape it to the camera, I found that everything I see is backward, is that right.Thats when it is resting against the eye piece and tape around to stop it coming off.

It sounds like you've bought a right angle finder that was for the Spotmatic + K series cameras (pre 1976) which had a fractionally larger eyepiece surround. The finders for the M series onwards (1976 - current) tend to fetch quite a lot more money on eBay (£100+) which is why many of us end up using the Chinese "Seagull" right angle finders instead (around £30-40 new).

I'm sure you could probably bend and manipulate the one you have to fit with pliers and a Dremel but if it were me I'd probably re-sell it and put the money into a Seagull finder instead.

PS. The Seagull (and the later Pentax) uses a prism that shows you the image the "right" way up.
