Revival.

Pentax K1, D FA 24-70mm.
Formatt Hitech Firecrest C-PL, Firecrest Pro 4 stop and Firecrest Pro 3 stop ND grad.

This image is called Revival as I sort of lost my mojo and haven't picked up the camera in over a month. Had to force myself to get out and even though it was a quick half hour from the front door, shoot the image and get back home, it felt good and rekindled the romance of taking images once again.

It's not perfect and I thought twice about posting it but for me it was a good positive step to getting back on the photo bandwagon.

Nice image Gareth and nice to hear you have picked up your camera. You capture such beautiful landscape and seascape images. Don't stop believing and I truly hope you continue to capture and to post great images.

Best wishes
Nigel

Nice one Gareth....!! Be glad when I receive my K1 back, and can get out there....!
Like to see some Pentax users using filters... Still not sorted my DFA 15-30 to use them....lol

Pictures on here. I feel dont have to be perfect. Not a lot wrong with this one..! It's good to share ideas or problems someone is having.. Set ups the like.

Quite evocative, Gareth, beautiful tones going on there, too. I like that there's nothing immediately spectacular to the image - yet there's a definite rumble to be felt underneath.

Yes, I agree with Sry. The viewer is gently placed in the scene and is invited to 'experience' it. A very successful 'revival'.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

I like this shot Gareth, I enjoy a walk along a sea shore when the weather isn't too good and the beach is deserted. I can actually hear the sea from your image.

I actually prefer the colour image - I like the hint of warmth in the tones and the gentle yellowy/bronze highlights on the rocks and waves. The top left of the B&W shot was a bit distracting for me, too graduated compared the beautifully even tones of the rest of the image

good to see you back Gareth, stick with it kid always a pleasure to see your images . Colour version for me , brings the sky to life and shows how treatening it is.

Personally I like the dark and brooding clouds in the black and white version. I get the sense of a storm coming in.
