Reverse reversing ring?

I have a reversing ring for a 49mm thread 50mm lens. What I want is the opposite. Instead of the ring being positive K bayonet to positive 49mm thread I want it to be K bayonet female to 49mm female so that I can put it on the end of my reversed lens and fit my Pentax 080 ring flash onto the front. Any ideas anyone on how to fit a 080 ring flash onto the end of a reversed 50mm K fit lens?. CHEERS Vic.

Sorry John but I can't afford an arm and a leg. I was hoping someone would know of a ready made one or some other solution. CHEERS Vic.

Hi Vic

How's your DIY skills?

You could drill out a rear end cap with large enough hole saw so that it can then accept (maybe with a little persuasion!) an appropriately sized step-up/step-down ring with a 49mm filter thread.

Cheers

See my topic from 2007 here. I think you'll have to make one. If you choose the right donor extension tube, you can even have it locking onto the end of the reversed lens. Mine doesn't but it's never been a problem so far.

I used a larger filter thread than you need. It might be sensible for you to do the same and use step down rings to get to 49mm.

You can get them - I know because I have one, it came with my secondhand AF080C ringflash!

It's a genuine Pentax item, but unfortunately it has no part number on it. I tried to find out what it was worth on the net, but can only find it on Bojidar's site, described as a 'reverse ring light holder K'. You might be lucky and find one on the net perhaps?

If not, Peter's solution seems to do the job.

Now, seeing as these things seem to be as rare as hen's teeth, any idea of a value of this genuine adaptor?

That looks interesting Tony.

The K Bayonet end looks OK but what is at the other end, it looks like a bevelled mount for something, possibly a ring flash of some sort.

Does that part unscrew to leave a female threaded part?

Also, it might be Pentax fit, but I doubt Pentax ever used 'sticky' labels to identify their products.

That looks to me like a lens to bellows mount, with a V groove rather than the filter thread.

If so I've seen the BPM version for sale at 20 (updated price).

It`ll screw into/onto the rear of an M42 lens - the bevelled bit is part of the construction and is solid - I bought it years ago as part of a job lot - can`t remember the description - never even thought about the Label .

Anyway , it`s here if it`s any use to Vic
