It still looks good with just the bottom cropped off Ted, whether you like the letterbox crop or the more conventional framing is a matter of taste.
For me there was just too much empty space between the lower clouds and the darker ones at the top so I cheated

Well, I had a go at shortening the sky, never tried this sort of thing before. I quite like the outcome.

I am a total beginner so will be reading avidly.
I couldn't resist commenting though.

This is a good forum to learn on, it's how I learnt. Post up some photos and accept the replies, good or bad.

Yes, it's all natural colours. The only "cheating" as it were is how I controlled the shutter speed to expose for the sky, not for the turbines. Had I exposed for the turbines then the sky would have been bland and nearly white.
