Hi Matt!!
First off, I've been away from the forum due to other more important tasks
Now on that CS-205 shutter release, how much did you get it for? I will be needing it soon. Currently I'm living up to using the 2-second self-timer with mirror lock on the appropraite situations.
Thanks!

Hi Shotgun!
Well, in the UK here, Park Cameras have it listed for £25. I managed to get it off ebay for £15. It is the same release as the MZ-7 (and others).
The lead is very short though (less than 0.5m), so knowing it is standard 2.5mm stereo is useful for extending

Thanks Matt, maybe I could ask around if I can find this cable. I agree that less thatn 0.5m is quite short.

Thanks Matt!
Thanks almost exactly £25 worth, in fact. Just tried to stick a proper (i.e. mechanical) cable release into the little hole on my new *istD, and was most disappointed to find it didn't fit. I was even more disappointed to find it'd cost me twenty-five English pounds for a CS205, but not as disappointed as I would have been if I'd bought one before reading your post!
I'm building a special support rig, so the CS205 wouldn't have been much good anyway. Now, I'm sure I've got a 2.5mm jack plug in the shed somewhere...
Many thanks,
Steve

Glad I could help Steve!!
BTW, I bought a 2.5mm stereo 2m extension cable for a couple of quid, and that works a treat with the CS205
Enjoy!

Matt,
Ooh, scary. As is this. Glad you like the elephants.
I've now made a special shoulder mount around my cable, and all for a fraction of the cost of the CS205. Check it out.

Hi All
There is a guy selling home made cable releases for the *isD on eBay (completed item 3824862100). He is stating that they are equivelant to the Pentax CS-205 AND the Canon RS-60E3. Question! will the Canon RS-60E3 work with the *istD? as it is available on eBay Buy Now for £11.80 +p&p. Also regarding the AC adpator K-AC10B, what is the mAh power output of the 6.6V? trying not to spend £40.00.

Hi Folks
In reply to my earlier question regarding the Canon RS-60E3/Pentax CS-205 compatability with the *istD, well I went ahead and bought a cloned one from Hong Kong off eBay at a cost of $12.99 plus $5.00 (approx £10.00 total) delivered in 4 days. It works as it should and there are plenty of these RS-60E3 available on eBay at the moment for a fraction of the cost of a hard to find Pentax CS-205.

Hi to all,
I'm new to this forum and would just like to say how informative its been reading through all your posts. I've very recently purchased the ist D and would like to ask the same question as McBrian ref the mAh rating of the Pentax AC adapter.
I've already got a 6.5V adapter, which has a max. 2500 mAh DC output rating. As the batteries I'm using are 2400 mAh anyway, I'm guessing the my adapter at 2.5 should be OK to use?
Does anyone know the mAh rating of the K-AC10B Pentax adapter?
Thanks

Managed to buy a CS-205 shutter release for my *istD. For those electronic savvy out there, here's the pin out:
2.5mm stereo plug (like a smaller headphone plug)
Sleeve - Common
Ring - Focus
Tip - Shutter
Like all remotes the focus shorts to common before the shutter does. It also includes a lock facility which leaves both Focus and Shutter connected to Common.
