I don't think I've ever sold any lenses and later much regretted it. That's because I don't sell many lenses, I tend to hoard all that I buy, though I think I'll sell off one or two shortly. If I suspect I'll miss them then I just keep them. My DA 55-300 hasn't been used for around two years but I've nothing else that long, so I don't sell it, even though I very, very rarely shoot long.

BTW - I think mine was a Super Takumar - I just reread the reviews on the US forum and almost wept as I realized what I did 20+ yrs ago (but money was tighter then)

I've also sold my A 100/2.8 (non-macro) and regretted it (twice) but I found another excellent copy earlier this year and will be keeping hold of it. IMO it's on of the most under-rated Pentax gems around

One of the reasons I prefer the Tamron Di 90/2.8, but would like to try the FA 100/2.8 sometime.I much prefer my Sigma 105mm to my late DA 100mm. Mainly as if the lens hunts I can limit it the focus on the Sigma but the Pentax noisily goes from infinity to close focus until it locks on! So annoying and I found that clamp switch a waste of time

I forgive my DFA100mm 2.8 macro for being noisy every time I get home and look at the pictures. It is utterly brilliant.
It is as awesome turning and taking a shot of the children, or a deer, as it is down in the undergrowth.
It's by far, my sharpest lens wide open. Plus it has an aperture ring.
I will never sell it and if it gets damaged I'll find the same to replace it.
I could loose any of my other lenses without much regret. Well, maybe the 12-24 would have to be replaced if I lost it.

I am the (very) lucky recipient of LennyBloke's decision to sell the K28 f/2. Having owned it for a short period I am beginning to understand why it is such a special lens.
At this time my eyes are okay for manual focus lenses and I am happy with using the green button for metering. At the same time I can see a gradual deterioration in my optical performance and one day auto focus lenses will be what I need. When that time comes the manual focus lenses I have will need to be passed onto people who can use them. Practicalities aside I will regret passing them on, at the same time I am not a collector and will therefore not keep them on a shelf unused.
I am, however, not immune to LBA: LennyBloke knows that I have my eye on a FA*85 . Great lenses never stop being great!

I'm glad you're enjoying the K28/2 I'm reminded of it most days as my work desktop background runs a slideshow of some of my photos, and one I took of a potato flower with an aphid on it just jumps out every time.
