Has anyone tried to register a Pentax product online recently?
I've been trying to register a lens but keep coming up with page not found or words to that effect.

Thanks for the reply.
I've tried www.pentax.co.uk as it says on the product registration card but can't find anything at all on the website for registration.
I've also "googled" and come up with http://www.registration.pentax.co.uk/ which just gives me page not found or something similar.

I'm not sure if that's what I want or not. Is that link to register for a newsletter or to register a piece of kit for warrenty purpose?
There is only a selection for cameras, nothing for lenses etc.
Thanks dangie

For info.
I've received an e-mail from Pentax regarding registering products online. They say this is no longer possible, and should be done by post.

Well, why don't you register through the Pentax Canada website?

www.pentax.ca

We are obviously a bit behind the times and still register online.

I must praise Pentax Canada for their support of the local shops, and for having everything available.

(This applies to UK users only)

Am I missing something or what? Why register?

All you need to do is keep your receipt or whatever in a safe place, so you have proof of date of purchase if you have a problem with the product within the 12 months guarantee period, and if you do it should be the seller's responsibility to get it sorted.

As far as I am aware, the registration process is just a ploy used by manufacturers to get purchasers to give them all their details which they then use for market research purposes.

I don't think I've ever registered a product or even returned a guarantee form...as you say, this applies to the UK, where such activities are entirely optional!

Best regards, John
