reflections C+C please

Neil what are you trying to do here, capture the cars or the reflections?
I think with the first image you took too much of a compromise to get a nice reflection that the car isn't nice in the photo, the angle feels odd.
The second one is better and it works well but I get the feeling also their it's a compromise but that hasn't to be a bad thing.

The second shows a good reflection as well as good detail of a classic car. Would like to see a little more of the car, though.

The idea is there, which is great. I think if you take the idea and repeat it with a slightly tighter composition you will get something very interesting.
The reflected figure or item needs to be striking and simple, the one in shot 1 is too indistinct and the one in shot 2 is too busy.
The area used as the reflector needs to be shown in such a way that there isn't a lot of unwantewd detail surrounding it.
Having got the idea, it just needs working on a bit more.

I do have wider shots of the both cars so may play a bit. it has given me some direction and something to aim for. I think I may find it hard to get unclutterd shots but will keep trying. Still have along way to go and a lot of leaning to do.

I like the way you've tried to make a virtue out of a necessity, Neil. I always find reflections such a problem when photographing classic cars.

I think for reflection type shots, one of the key issues is to have something worth reflecting.
So in image No. 1, leaving aside any debate about composition, the ideal would be a really nice classic car reflected in the bonnet, rather than some camper vans.
Keeping oneself out of the shot is an ever present problem also

I like 2 better as the darker colour gives a better reflection. The chrome grill and lamp are nice at the top and your eye is drawn down to the woman and child and the perfect fluffy clouds. The distortion gives a fisheye view of the whole event. It shows what's happening people looking at fine bodywork.
I don't like the top left sky round the tree but I guess you had to clear it out to make the car more striking.

I like the second shot rather a lot. I think the reflection is perfectly fine, it's clear what is being reflected. The only downside is the top left section, some strange outlines around those trees and the tilted ground looks a bit odd.

thanks for the comments, its my PP skills with the background the sky was really pale (burt out) so tryed putting something in. the tilt on the background is me keeping the rad upright on the car getting the time to learn the PP is difficult.
