Nice pics, though it is a lovely siskin rather than a redpoll

Indeed, Alan!
I was on the way back to the car, having had lovely light, but with not much in the way of birds about.
When I saw these fellas, the light was fading &, against the sky, the shots were challenging.
I dialled-in a couple of clics compensation but apparently not enough!
Back in PSE11, they still needed the shadows lifting, with the level of crop not exactly helping.
I think I may also have still had the SR on on the K5, along with it on the 150-500!
But apart from that, a piece of cake!
Thanks for the interest,
Roger.

Nice captures Roger, but unfortunately the branches are a major distraction as well as a detraction. This whole bird photography thing is a real tester...they're in the right place at the wrong moment when you're not dialled in and un-ready to fire, or in the wrong place at the right moment when you are all spammed up and hot to capture!!
One fine day, however, I'm confident that I'll be spammed up and hot to capture when the damned birds I'm after will also be in the right place at the right moment !

K5, 150-500.
Your thoughts would be welcome.
