Rear Converter A

Much as I have eschewed tele converters in the past I couldn't resist picking up a 'Pentax Rear Converter A 645 2X' with an S80-120 soft lens case to boot on eBay. Jessops list the glass at £499 and the case, which is also the one for the DA18-55 and 50-200, at £30. Not bad at £45 then! It is a brute of a thing almost twice the length of the 75mm standard lens, I'll try it out at the weekend.

In the same post came a letter from my local pro lab, B&S, announcing that they will no longer be processing C41 film come October

Perhaps the latter explains the price of the former.

I know, George, I know. It is sad to see the demise of film and even sadder to see me hoovering up things I didn't want and couldn't afford at the time

The sad thing is that manufacturers didn't see digital coming. If Pentax had allowed for a digital back on a 645, things would be rather different.
