Re-sizing images in PE9

Can anyone help, please?
I've downloaded software to print my images onto a calendar that fits in a c.d. case.
This requires images to be reduced/cropped to 4.627"wide x 4" high.

I'm struggling to achieve this in PE9, & there's only 2 months left!!!

Any advice would be most welcome.

Thanks,
Coker.

It's a neat idea isn't it .

I assume it is the same as in PSE 6.
Open the photo in editor. Duplicate it and close the original.
Go to the image drop down menu. Click on resize - Image size ( or just do Alt+Ctrl+I ).

Make sure the unit is set to inches and fill in the size you need.

Then tile that with the template and drag the picture into the blue area. Once the picture is in place delete the blue layer.

I have PE8.

Open the image in PE8 Editor.
Image
Resize
Image Size
Tick Resample Image
Untick Scale Sizes
Untick Constrain Proportions
Change the Size in the Boxes.
Save
Print

Thanks, Graham!

Stage 1 success!

I now have a (trial) image, 4.627" x 4".

All I have to do now is put it onto the template of the calendar to fill the available space.....
when super-imposed, it is just a small area within the 4.672 x........

further help, please.

(so much for £20+ on "The Missing Manual".
Not easy(!) to follow, or am I being thick? (Steady!))

Won't that distort the image?

I assume that they mean "Maintain Aspect Ratio"

There is a Freeware program that's quite good for doing lossless
crops on Jpegs called JPEGCrops. You should be able to set a
custom size to whatever you want. All the standard sizes are
already set in the menu.

Download from:
http://ekot.dk/programmer/JPEGCrops/

It's only a small program quite easy to install/uninstall.

Look at the links page for other cropping programs also
a Paint Shop Pro tutorial on creative cropping.

Irfanview also does lossless cropping of jpegs. But Coker is using a .PSD template so it is easier for him to do it all in PSE.

Maintaining aspect ratio works in this case btw.
