Are you sure Ricoh / Pentax are participating?
If they are they'll have their new mug to demonstrate!

Who knows that already?

We have had no information from Ricoh to say anything is definitely coming this year, just rumours and heresay from the usual suspects who are normally totally wrong anyway.

TBH even if Ricoh said there was a new body coming this year I wouldn't believe them with the track record they have delaying what little they announce.

should have said my post was meant for JAK.

The OP post is fine and worthy of debate.

Do I?
I cannot see Ricoh listed as a participant at IFA2019, but then I cannot see Canikon listed either, though Sony get a mention.
It isn't really a photograhic show. more of a European CES, ie general tech event for TVs,PCs & phones etc.

So who will be hosting the new Ricoh/Pentax products at IFA then that I should know about? The OP asked about new ones!

Perhaps Ricoh are donating one of the new mugs to every stand there!

AT Alibell

I know, Pentax have stated that the next APSC will be released in 2020.

But I am looking forward to a new full frame camera, and if anything what they will do about competing against mirrorless.

I also believe that mirrorless technology will bring about improvements in video technology .And bring more people to the brand , especially those who have departed from the brand ,but have retained heir K mount glass.

Surely not compete against it, just embrace it as well. Perhaps in partnership with another company similar to the MX-1 tie up with Olympus, sharing the basic deign, or as with Samsung using the K10/K20 body for their GX10/20. Aren't the main Ricoh cameras that type of camera anyhow reserving the DSLR range for the Pentax brand. Perhaps a decent Ricoh mirrorless EVF fully supporting K mount lenses is called for which would maintain Ricoh's policy when they bought the Pentax brand.
Ricoh have already used the K mount for film SLRs, albeit with the dreaded extra pin.

A partnership with Olympus or another company may be a good idea.Sony have just sold the last of their Olympus shares, so they may be opportunity their.

Retaining the K mount may give Pentax the USP.."Unique Selling Proposition. they need to get ahead .

FF ML camera bodies may be reasonably priced , ...The lens most definitely are not.
