Nimitz,
what amoringello has wrote is exactly what I was told at one of my trusted shops...
Elinchrome provide very very poor customer service, and also big problems with adaptability. THe connections and skyports are not up to their price, and different from all other companies. (say the jack 'in' is different from all the others and has to be replaced by elinchrome original parts only)
These above are not my words, but what I understand is the fact that compatibility is a big issue with studio lighting, and you need to be able to buy little bits and bobs that are not necessarily branded.
Womble, its very hard to use an external flash source of light, whilst having to consider the extra light from the dumb trigger. It might work for inscriptions, but it definitely wouldn't for people. Mainly if you get to a certain level of knowledge and are determined in your aims.
Regards,
Nathan

My opinion is to go with anything other than Skyports.
Look up several of my other posts on the subject. In short, they are no better than eBay triggers but at ten times the cost. Support from Elinchrom is atrocious! Quality for their equipment (remotes and lights) is sub-par.
Others seem to have better luck with the remotes, so I don't know if they ever had to deal with the support side.
I have a couple of Skyport sets. I've had no trouble with them at all. Good range. Good battery life and perfectly reliable.

I will fire the flash from 1 or 2 sides. Sometimes from the ground and up too as well. I hope to add more flashes later.
I agree - your setup works - and that is what I have used so far indoor as well. I just want to expand my range a bit now.
