quick release neck strap

Having nearly put my camera on the floor through catching a trailing neck strap I am looking for a quick release system for removing the neck strap when I want to hand hold my camera.

I have tried a split ring similar to general use for keys but the metal against the camera is not good.

I am sure there is such a solution to this problem. Can anyone kindly point me to such.

regards Thoramay.

I use Optech Pro straps, which quick release to leave just a pair of short tails still attached to the camera.

Another vote for OpTech. You can even join the tails together to make a short handle .

Damn, that's a great idea. I use a LowePro Voyager strap with QR, but I can't join my tails together

The tails are male and female so as well as being able to join them together, it also prevents you from putting the strap on the wrong way round
