I say leave a border Pa - I use Blurb who suggest leaving a space around the edges to avoid limbs being amputated.....

With a border looks more elegant to me.
I've only ever made holiday albums and usually go for borders with just a few select pic's getting a full page - I find this add's more 'impact' to certain images. Not sure a mixture would be right for a wedding though.

One more question (think I know the answer already but want to be sure)
if I have two different layout photos on pages next to each other-
landscape on left hand page, portrait on right hand page
should they be the same height?

I would say, "yes" to the same height, and also I prefer the shots with a border.

I would say white border.
With traditional wedding (film) albums all the prints
had to be the same size, because that's how it was priced
8"x6" or 8"x10" but you wouldn't have facing pages partly
because of the tissue interleaf.
I would still go for all prints the same size portrait and
landscape. I don't know if you sell reprints, but showing
small portrait sized pics isn't going to help with
selling bigger reprints. They will just order the same size
that's in the album.

Not the answer to your question but...
If you are going to take wedding photographs you have to spend a lot more attention to detail, my observations are from left to right:
Man should have his jacket buttoned to hide his ill-fitting trousers, lose what he's holding in his right hand and be turned lightly in towards the group. Woman in green ok but she should be turned slightle towards the bride and groom. Bride and groom would be better if his hand was in the small of her back and she was holding flowers with both hands and they were turned slightly in to each other; his jacket should be buttoned. The man in the kilt is OK. Man on right should have his jacket fastened too but his buttonhole is very squint.
They at least look relaxed but a less distracting background would help a great deal. The sloping kerb would have been eliminated if you had shot at right angles to it.
It is the photographers job not only to produce technically competent images but to make people look at their absolute best.

I'm creating a wedding album online for a friend.
I know it's probably a personal choice but which do you think is better:
images to fill the page completely or leave a white border on the edges?
Sample:
thanks in advance,
Pa.
