London Olympics

Since this forum seems to be predominately British in membership, I just wanted to remark that the LONDON OLYMPICS were fantastic, beautiful, and brilliantly organized in my opinion, and have to express only awe and respect to our friends, the Brits, in pulling it off so perfect. I don't think anyone could have done it better. I am certain they will go down in world history and memory as one of the greatest ever! So, congrats, kudos, and huge admiration from this humble American.
And I'm going to qualify this statement in this forum by adding: I wish I could have attended with my Pentax K-5!

One of the good things on this side was that the BBC had 24 channels on satellite with an A-Z index of what was on each channel and the coverage was a 100% advert free with no interruptions. Had it been on commercial TV we would have had almost 50% adverts.

Well done the BBC

Hi, IMHO even if the forum was not predominantly British in membership, jobs well carried out deserve to be appreciated. Yes, undoubtedly the London Olympics were very well executed. I am not a British, but happy and proud that efforts paid off. One may belong to any country or background, but finally its the human effort that's in play and that makes us all one. I agree with Algernon in that the BBC did a great job too. Great work!....

Not long until the Paralympics now Will you all be watching them too?

Please don't stray off topic, we've managed to survive so far without getting into non-photographic areas!

General Chat is for Genral Photographic Chat, Pentax related.

Many thanks.

+1

I was at the rowing at Eton Dorney - everything was well done - no problems taking in my K-5 plus 60-250
