Hi,
did you record to video or DVD. If you recorded to DVD, stick it in the PC and grab frames off of it.. most DVD software does this. If video, find a mate with a video and recordable DVD machine and rerecord it, and then do the same. Taking a photo off the TV is a problem because of the refresh rate of the screen.. with CRT anyway.
Cheers

Good quality images can be made from the TV, but the shutter speed needs to be long enough to include an enture scan of the screen and avoid black lines. In the UK with its 50Hz power supply and 25 frames per second TV the ideal speed is 1/25 second, or longer. If Canada uses 60Hz and 30 fps then the speed would be 1/30sec or longer.
Mount the camera on a tripod, parallel to the screen, fill the frame to avoid too much black border and turn off all the room lights to avoid reflections.

I took some off out TV when I was testing my new K10D with a Pentax-A series 50mm f1.7 lens; it was easy; I found set the white balance to fluorescent Daylight, set shutter priority to 1/20th sec, ISO to 100 and it comes out well! I just DELETED all my TV pics today or I could have shown you one !
Been a member of Pentax Club since the Ron Spillman era! Got COMPUTERISED at last - DIGITISED?

The shutterspeed depends on the TV system and the refreshrate your TV is using.
PAL is 25fps, 50Hz refresh but a lot of TV sets display each frame twice so you end up with a 100Hz refresh.
NTSC is 30fps, 60Hz refresh, I don't know if they have 120Hz versions as well.

I was wondering if any one has ideas for capturing a image on Canadian Television as I recorded the program early yesterday and would like to capture my brother featured on the program. My equipment is 18-55 / 50-200 mm glass along with a tripod and various other items including the fancy NIKON close up filters.
Please note, i suffer from dyslexia.
Thanks,
