Good luck John,
Are you going to share them with us?

Yes, I'll share them, but after the competition. For all I know the judge may be on this forum so I wouldn't want to declare them too early. I won't be able to share the print quality, but I'll share the images and how well they did.
Best regards, John

Nice article John. Will be interesting to see how you get on. Your always looking for something a little way off the mainstream. Keep it up.

I can't remember if I said this before but I have had amazing results printed at 30x30 cm from the original Q. Sort of cyanotype look printed on metallic paper at Loxley Colour. Just about to have some slightly bigger Giclee prints made on Fuji fine art paper

Good luck John. I'd love to see those big prints. It's remarkable how sensor design and, I suppose, in-camera processing has come on in recent years.
Best wishes,
Andrew

An here are the images. They were judged last night and, as predicted, nobody batted an eyelid regarding print quality. In fact, the "stunning detail" od the macaw was commented upon. The audience liked my Little Goth best, and she drew a suitable "Awww...." from them.

Little Goth (18/20)

Macaw (17/20)
There was a third image, but I haven't prepared a small version for web yet. later hopefully.

Both very nice images, and yes, I can imagine the prints must have looked excellent.

Well John, if these small versions are anything to go by the prints must have been really something. Two terrific shots.
Best wishes,
Andrew

The difference this time for me is that all three of my prints are from the Q-S1. I've printed them without any interpolation, 4000 x 3000 pixels at 300ppi as native to the camera output. This gives a print 33.87 x 25.4 cm, which fits with room to spare on an A3 sheet of paper.
OK, the images are slightly smaller than from the K-5, but still a decent size and the quality is very impressive. I've used images from the MX-1 before, and they have done very well. The fact is that they look no different when displayed to any other entries, be it from APS-C, FF or even smartphones. There have been a few smartphone images entered that have just been accepted alongside everything else.
I'll let you know how the images do, but actual image quality won't be a problem. The content is something else of course.
