without sounding sarcastic have you tried removing the UV filter and then taking some pictures of the same things when you used the UV filter?
What lense are you using? if you have another lense try it, is it producing the same issue?
If you provide some more info about the lense and the settings you are using people may be able to provide you with some suggestions.

Sorry should have said I wwent to my friends place and was fasinated by this single flower(my friend lives about 60 miles from me otherwise I would try again with out the filter).

I'd be more concerned about it being out of focus and perhaps with a little camera shake, noisy too at 1600ISO. 1/4 second is too long an exposure when in this close even with SR switched on. I doubt very much that your filter would have caused any colour cast, AWB will have removed any.

The colour might be a result of being inside (mixed/artificial light). You can remove the colour cast easily enough in PP but as Gartmore said, focus/camera shake is more of an issue.

I have to ask if SR is switched on ?
OK I have a K-x but I have SR on all the time so avoid camera shake

SR gives you an extra couple of stops but that probably isn't enough in this instance.
Clarky and Mike-P are the resident macro experts around here and I'm pretty sure they are using flash most of the time ie. effective shutter speeds around 1/20000 sec.
