No Mike, it's not the monitor, it's the picture - the tail and lower body is a strong purple-magenta. What happened?
Best regards, John

Thanks John.
Not my picture, I just commented on the amount of purple in the body area and the poster couldn't see it. I was a bit concerned my monitor was on it's way out.

No fringing on my monitor, although, as John says, there is a slight cast to the darker areas.

Ok, maybe I misunderstood what purple fringing is but there is a definite purple tinge to the squirrel? .As long as my monitor isnt up the creek thats all Im worried about

Mike, the white balance seems to be off a little on that pic & it is showing a slight magenta cast so it's not your monitor.

Plus, just for you is a classic example of purple fringing:

I can see it. Possibly the OP added it without knowing.

As the originator of the squirrel shot i can confirm that the WB was set for flourescent light as i had previously been taking shots indoors and in my excitement of having the squirrel close by i just turned and started shooting.

However, the squirrel did actually have a purple tint to him. He was a little known breed of grey squirrel; the Punk Grey.

Jason. Maybe you just live in an area where all the birds are radio-active.
