My sunrise photograph of Snowdon, chosen as Regional Winner (Wales) in the 2011 National Countryside Photography Competition, is published in THE TELEGRAPH newspaper today together with the other regional winners - here's a link to the electronic version

Nice image. Looks slightly more natural than some of the competetion.
Are you willing to share some more information on how you made the image?

EM - I think the problem these days is that it's assumed every photo is heavily manipulated and certainly it seems an increasing trend. My Snowdon shot, although some probably wouldn't believe it, has had minimal processing - basically a slight contrast boost and a very slight tweak in luminance. The shot was taken just after sunrise during October 2007 when the heather dies away on the Snowdonia hillsides producing some wonderful colours, this combined with a particuarly colourful sunrise produced the photo, not me!!

The judging took place at the event at St James's Palace last Wednesday so the result is known - there's a reason the deer photo appeared on the front page of The Telegraph

Thanks Sandy...the PR company have just emailed me and think that all the 10 regaional winners will be published in the paper version of The Telegraph on Monday, I'm hoping to receive some of the publicity photos then too
