Mine worked with XP but it was really slow. I'm told it was because the computer only had a single core processor. (Pentium 4)

Both computers have the maximum amount of RAM that can be used with 32bit systems.

There was a time when I would have known the number, back in the good old days when RAM was measured in KBs. Both computers have the maximum amount of RAM that can be used with 32bit systems.
Anyway, am running an Athlon dual 64x2 3800 with 2 GB RAM, whatever all that means..
Hopefully it will be fast enough.

+1 with Hyram. I too use PSE9 with XP running on a Pentium 4 (clocked at 3.4 GHz) with 2GB ram. PSE9 doesn't run lightning fast but it's OK and may be helped by the installed NVidia GeForce 9800 graphics board which has a further 1GB ram fitted.

Maybe the graphics memory then, I do not think mine had any.
