problem with K-x

Dear All

I'm a very new user of a Pentax K-x, my first dslr, and have only just started using it. Very pleased with the images taken on the auto setting.

But just wondering if anyone can tell me what I've done to cause this problem please?

The auto focus no longer works - cannot push the button just half way down, and changing the setting from AF to MF makes no difference. Can manually focus but images are completely black. But can still take video.

So what have I done? and how do I undo it?

Any suggestions most gratefully received.

Well there is an option in the menu to reset to factory default you might try that.

The story about the AF and the black photo sounds very strange... it might be the contacts on the lens and camera that are dirty because the Camera needs to communicate with the lens for the auto settings.

Fill all else fails take the batteries out for a couple of minutes that should also reset some other options.
