I found the same, although it seems to be OK at the moment.

I find it a common problem Tim, but one I've learned to live with, I just make sure I copy anything I've written before hitting send.
Its not just this forum either, I get it with another forum and also with webmail, I also get it with online banking but I think thats a standard security feature anyway.

When you login are you checking the 'remember me' box just below the password?
I used to have the problem of losing replies before I did that.
You are remembered by means of a cookie so deleteing cookies will exacerbate the problem. If you r browser automaticaly deletes cookies when you leave the browser then you will still have to login each time you restart the browser and access the forum...

As mentioned click the "remember me" box. If a post takes a very long time to complete the connection may give up, so I would suggest highlighting all your text and hitting Ctrl + C to copy it. Then click send. If it fails you can paste your text into a new message box with Ctrl+V.
Best regards, John

Sometimes you can get lucky by click the "previous" button on the browser, I know that with Opera it remembers what I typed before I click on send but IE does not do that I believe.
ps. Like John said below, you might get lucky even with IE.

Good point Stefan, it can save the day, even in IE!

Thanks for the input folks. I seem to have fixed it for now, I went in and manually deleted all the PU cookies (instead of using Safari's 'clear cookies' command like all the previous times I've attempted this). Fingers crossed, I haven't been logged out for a few hours now.

After logging in to pentaxuser.co.uk, within about an hour I become automatically logged out and have to login all over again. I use 1Password for Mac (similar to Roboform for Windows), so logging in is literally only a single click of a button which is why I've never complained about this before even though it's been going on for months.
But today I logged in and saw I had a PM. I read the PM, and composed a lengthy reply. The reply took me about 45 minutes (I was distracted for a while halfway through). At the end of writing I clicked 'Send Message' and got a message saying that I 'did not have permission to view this private message' and telling me to login again!!
So I login again, and needless to say my outgoing PM is completely gone. Extremely annoying!
I have cleared cookies several times, I have emptied my cache, and I have used Safari's 'reset Safari' command. I still get logged out in less than an hour.
This can't be right - can it? Any help appreciated.
