Problem cleaning viewfinder on my K100D

So i'm prepping my camera ready for it's new owner (who sits opposite me at work!) and i've cleaned the image sensor which is now spotless - but I've had some annoying pieces of dust when looking through the viewfinder for some time. They do not affect the image taken and you can still see them in the viewfinder when no lens is attached; so i've ignored them until I had some new swabs. Nothing I have done has managed to shift them. The mirror is clean, the external viewfinder piece is clean, and i've spent a great deal of time wiping the internal side of the viewfinder, and i've come to the conclusion that the dust is actually underneath the piece of glass somehow - the otherside of what I can wipe when inside the camera.

Is this possible? And any suggestions on how to get rid of the pesky dust?

A good blast with a Rocket Blower can usually shift dust inside the VF - works for me anyway

Sounds like a plan Hefty, cheers - just ordered one now!

In nearly 20 months of (fairly) heavy use I've never "wet cleaned" anything inside or outside my camera. The Rocket Blower does a fantastic job as long as you use it regularly and there's less chance of damaging anything fragile as you never make contact with anything.

If you're anything like me you'll probably find it's the best ten quid you ever spend...

Search the forum for tips on cleaning or replacing the focusing screen. It is the focusing screen that you see when looking through the eyepiece.

Thanks Hefty - I find it encouraging that in 20 months you've only ever needed one of those - so I should'nt need my swabs and fluid when I get my K20D then, just rely on this when it comes! I like the sound of this, as I must admit I was'nt really keen on using the swabs (though they did the job) I just did'nt like the thought of tampering inside the camera touching the sensor, and I'm glad that I wont need to in the future.
