Pro Dealer ?

In the latest Park Cameras magazine / catalogue, they have 2 A4 pages of Canon cameras (headed Canon) followed by 2 A4 pages of Nikon cameras (headed Nikon) followed by 1 A4 page of Sony cameras (headed Sony) followed by 1 A4 page of Olympus cameras (headed Olympus) followed by a half page of Pentax cameras (headed Digital SLRs).

Not very impressive for what is supposed to be a Pentax Pro Dealer

I agree, have you tried finding Pentax gear on the high street recently? In york yesterday the only camera I found was a very tatty Super A with no batteries, and that was in a second hand shop!
Jessops seem to be focusing on Sony, even to the detriment of Canon and Nikon. Come on Pentax get your finger out, it's no good having the best cameras if nobody can buy them!

The reason for that is that Sony are throwing more money at Jessops than the other manufacturers.

Money talks, or in this case, it promotes and sells cameras.

It's called marketing and that's something Pentax has not been very good at historically. We had hoped that Hoya's financial clout mught help, but it hasn't . . . yet.

I wonder if Chris of SRS would share his sales figures. Not specifics, just percentage sales of Pentax, Nikon, Canon, Sony, Olympus.

Look anywhere, in mag's, shops, outside billboards it's always the big boys, like Mannesty said Sony are throwing vast amounts of money at it.
It's only when photographers change brands that it comes to light there is better out there.

That's always the case, when Samsung start throwing money at DSLR promotion who's going to be the suppliers? Aparrently Samsung and Jessops don't get along, will we see a revival of Dixons' miranda badging? this time on cutting edge cameras.

I this entirely true? I'll admit they are terrible at it now but I remember when every man and his dog seemed to be toting an ME Super!
