Primes or zooms?

Boots?? Goodness me, my memories of taking film to the processing shops, chemists or dedicated 'fast processor' was 75% luck. Putting your film in that hands of the machine operator was never a good idea imho. There were times I returned the negs and asked for a redo.
Pro togs shooting film spent time processing in the dark room, they had to - it was their work - handing control of the final steps to a printed result by someone in a chemist would never do
But, if OOC perfection is your goal, then good luck with that - I assume you shoot JPEG only then?
For me, half the fun is pp, tweaking here and there to improve my already fantastic shots

Boots was easier than writing the photographers shop name in Forfar which no one would ever have heard of...
Usually shoot in JPeg, only switch to RAW if I intend to try and play with it, but that doesn't´t happen very often
, not that my images are perfect, far from it, I just like taking photies...

My aim is to use the camera and it's controls in order to take advantage of the maximum the sensor can muster for each situation .... I see the essential 'capture point' decisions as follows ;

Focal Length
Framing and composition
Focus accuracy
Aperture choice
Exposure time (as needed for steadiness or movement depiction)
ISO
White Balance

Get these right and you have a start point for the ' development' of your image. It you've shot RAW then the best control and optimised result will come from the skilled use of good software ..... It you've shot jpeg then that good result will come from intelligent choices you made with the camera custom image software controls, plus any further adjustments made later in external software.

In my view, not following this approach or not taking one of those two 'development' option, is to not be using the camera to it's full potential.

Sadly, further to my previous entry, I now have a DA 35 2.4 for sale in the relevant forum on here if anyone is interested!

I like the convenience of zooms, usually in my bag are Tamron 10-24mm, Pentax 16-50mm or the 18-135mm or Pentax 17-70mm, and the Pentax 55-300mm. Am about to have a "Prime Day" ( taken from an idea by David Storm have suggested this idea at out camera club for a summer outing ) and take the Pentax M 50mm f/1.4 , Pentax A 28mm f/2.8, Pentax M 135mm f/3.5mm. Not sure of choice of camera but probably the K-S2 for the focus peaking which I've never tried. If the bag isn't too heavy may take along the Pentax F 50mm f/1.7 and the Sigma "Superwide" 24mm. Just need a nice day with fluffy clouds scudding across the sky. wish me luck
