I am thinking of selling some Pentax SMC FA lenses but have no idea on prices at present.

Anyone have any thoughts on what these lenses would be worth, thinking of fair prices.

Pentax FA 24mm f2.0

Pentax FA 35mm f2.0

Pentax FA 50mm f1.7

Pentax SMC FA 200mm f2.8

Pentax 1.4X-L Converter ‘A'

They are excellent to mint condition.

If I put them on eBay need an idea of what to set a reserve at, thanks for any advice.

FA24 - £275 - Conservative price
FA35 - £250 - People are snapping these up
FA50 - £175ish
FA200 - £600ish
Don't really know about the converter. The FA24 might get more because it is fairly rare.

Nice set of lenses. You should really hook them up to a K-5

If you're planning to list the FA 35mm f2 I'd suggest doing so sooner rather than later. I suspect the new DA 35mm f2.4 will take a lot of the demand away as it's a cracking lens and has a street price around £150.

I would be seriously tempted by the 35mm as I am looking for one myself.
Also, that FA*200mm would be nice too, along with the 1.4x converter.
May I ask what condition they are in?

Prices are different depending on where you look. But the best place to get a fair estimate is the Pentax Forums sales thread, not their lens database, which contains historical and just plain inaccurate information (where price is concerned). Just because someone found an old lens for a tenner doesn't mean that is the going rate!

Also worth bearing in mind that the other forum seems to be predominantly USA-based, and lens prices across the Atlantic will be different to ours as they have a larger community to buy from.

Seems to me there are more people from UK and EU on the "other forum" than there are here!

The last FA* 24mm f/2 lens sold on ebay went for $709 (c. £445).
The last FA* 200mm f/2.8 lens went for $949 (c. £596).

Best wishes, Kris.

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

An FA* 24mm sold in the classifieds here not so long ago, try a search. If my memory is accurate it sold pretty damn quickly, and for considerably more than £275...

My mistake. Put it down as the FA24 f2.8. As an indicator for the FA* 24 f/2, Ffordes have a couple, 1 @ £449 and another @ £649

Wow, why do you want to rid yourself of such a fantastic collection of lenses?
