Price for used FA135/2.8?

Hi,

I was just wondering, how much is good price for used FA135/2.8 in UK?
The lens is in decent condition, has some scratch on front glass, but it doesn't affect the IQ.
Any ideas?

Check it out on eBay that will give you a rough idea, that's where most of us check out prices,

They don't come up on eBay very often and when they do they tend to fetch quite high prices - even with a small scratch I'd expect at least £400. I wouldn't pay that for one personally but that's supply and demand for you...

Wait until womble reads this thread - he's probably got some previous sales logged in his database.

It should be more along the £200 mark. But others may have more stats.
Scratches will put people off. But its scarcity will make it desirable nonetheless.

There's just one in the current Completed Listings history on eBay.co.uk. It was in the States and sold for £247.45 + postage.

I would guess £250 or so for an OK one, nearer £350-400 for a minty one. They are pretty unusual and so command a premium compared to the ubiquitous M series version.

I would auction it on eBay with a starting price of 99p, seriously. That will minimise your fees and maximise attention.

You can be certain that it will be bid up to at least £150, and it'll probably go for nearer £250, maybe even more.

Plus you can always 'end the auction early' and cancel bids if the price is catastrophically low with a day or so left to run.

Yes, although that is rather mean to the bidders. And don't forget that the high bids often come within the last few minutes of the auction.

There would be no worry with such a good item as this lens. Fast AF lenses are so popular.

The only problem would be if one had no or bad feedback. For eBay newcomers, I recommend getting some points in advance of selling a big item by buying and selling a few small items first.
