Possible to increase photo size?

You can upsize very effectively in Photoshop providing it's not excessive. In fact, it's pretty much as good as Genuine Fractals now.
A 4MB image would be very small, so I presume you're referring to a compressed JPEG. When opened, such a file will be more like 20-40 MB, depending on the pixel count and the complexity of the image.

John will be able to comment more reliably than me here, but I think I've read that it is better in Photoshop to upsize by a small percentage each time (ie incrementally), rather than in one big go. I'm not sure what the percentage to aim for is, but others may be able to advise.

That was the case in the early days of image editing programs, but it's no longer necessary. Just upsize and keep it reasonable.

That's exactly what I've read recently too Jon - on the Adobe website too if I remember correctly, I've now setup an action to upsize incrementally rather than the "one hit" processJohn will be able to comment more reliably than me here, but I think I've read that it is better in Photoshop to upsize by a small percentage each time (ie incrementally), rather than in one big go. They have this problem with Alamy. The upsize solution has been
well covered on the forum. This (link below) is just one thread,
search for others. David Kilpatrick is involved in quite a
few threads so include his name in a Google search.

I have some photos that Getty requested to be added to their database (through Flickr).
However the photos aren't the minimum 4MB, close but not there. I've heard some rumors that you can increase the size in Photoshop, Lightroom or similar programs? Is this possible? I presume it'd reduce quality but at least I could then submit them.
Cheers in advance,
Pa.
