I'm slowly working through my images for this year and did a bit of work on this one.

Comments please - especially ideas for improvement.

One point specifically do the bright highlights to the left of the nose and lips distract from the image?

Thanks.

Nice girl, nice colors....
I am never done such portraits and am not able to criticise or give advise.
It looks pretty.

But what my eye noticed and I do not like is how the heavy ear-ring draws out the ear.... At the same time these fit her. The white on the ear-rings goes with the lip-gloss and soft shine on the skin.
Highlights on the nose are maybe really too "visible"

Thanks for the comments.

Gareth - you are right about the nose, I will work on it.

Aiki - I see what you mean about the heavy earring, I will try to 'distort' the ear to correct it.

It's pretty good. Technically first class.

My only criticism is the shoulder. I should have liked to see her pose with her neck straight so that the shoulder wouldn't appear in the shot at all.

It would make for a simpler composition, which I think is what this type of shot requires.

Really ?
The shoulder adds some movement to the pic. It is not so static as most of studio photos.
There are too often too many studio photos that I dont like at all. Wax statues.
But I am not expert. Its only how I see these ...

Really.

The shoulder is a distraction, unlike the hand that helps to frame the face.

But that's just my view, and yours is equally valid.

I agree with the nose comment but I really like the pose - the combination of the models eyes leading to the lips teeth and tounge is excellent, overall i like this very much.

I like the position of the face too, and the other elements you mention. I just don't think the shoulder helps.

Beautiful photo of a beautiful girl. I know there are a few criticisms, but to me, a photo can look too perfect, so a few minor issues make the photo look better IMO.

Great shot!!

A great shot, although a little too perfect for me. But I'm probable the worst portrait photographer on the planet so who am I to comment. If you are looking for perfection you may want to sort the white spots on her teeth and I agree about the nose, still great shot.

Thanks all.

The most I can do with the shoulder is darken it down some more, and I think I will also lose the highlights which do give her skin a plastic feel.

V2 - based on your comments
Shoulder darkened and blurred, highlights on lips and nose and teeth toned down or removed.

Thanks to all, onto the next one.
