Had a few days at Weymouth/Portland this week and as my new K-5IIs arrived just before we left I took the chance to give it a good workout. All taken with the DA 17-70mm apart from the kitesurfer which was the Sigma 50-500mm OS HSM.

These look great Mike, very sharp and well composed. What are your thoughts on the K-5iis?

Nice set Mike and brought back memories for me. I used to go there every year with my Grandparents many years ago. Doubt I have seen it for more than 35 years.

No matter how many lenses I have owned - I have always needed just one more

Thanks for the comments, with regard to the K-5IIs David IMO it's more or less the same as my old K-5II ... maybe a touch sharper but there's very little in it. The K-5II was well used though and I felt it was starting to feel as such, it certainly wasn't as sharp as when new, infact I noticed I was having to apply more and more af adjustment as time went on to get a decent output.

A very enjoyable set Mike .. 6 & 8 are the best for me, 8 has great energy and is laid out nicely, 6 looks like an aerial shot without a window getting in the way

I is sharp and has good colours ... (I'm surprised we didn't hear any complaints about the 'leaning Tower of Pisa' look :roll, but for me its a typical lens effect we can general forgive, although maybe it could be pulled up a bit.

What's of more concern to me is the brightness variation in the sky around the top of the lighthouse, a halo-type effect, brighter on the right & darker on the left. This sort of thing I find is best fixed with a bit of dodging / burning tools set to soft edges and fairly large, with quick circular movements to try and blend the changes in to the surrounding sky brightness.

I like these

I decided to try to pick faults just as an exercise as such but gave up

Great shots as usual Mike
K10D, K5 plus plenty of clueless enthusiasm.

Oh come on, where's your staying power? It's not that difficult, some are blindingly obvious ... Just depends how much you care really...
