Can anyone tell me if Portaflash are still in business (or even if someone cares). I'm getting told two different stories that yes it's true, and no they still big (hmmm!!).

Do they have a web site!?

Hi Simon,

http://www.portaflash.co.uk/

EDIT: Actually, scratch that, it's a bit of the original site, but now taken over by serachportal.information.com

so it looks as though they are indeed gone.

Cheers

Liam

It seems these are made by SP Studio Systems but I can't find a web site for them either.

It might be worth contacting a wholesaler/distributor for info.

I've done a search for SP Studio Systems and I came up with this

www.bkaphoto.com

All american thought, but it does contain flashes that look like portaflash. Looks like I have to invest towards Interfit, They've just bought out a new range called Venus

I believe that Portaflash used to be marketed by Jessops. Why not contact their Leicester HQ. I still have a large square Portaflash unit.

When you can get the very well reported Elinchrom DLite 2 kit for around £430 it's not surprising they've disappeared.

Hi all,

We have sold Portaflash gear for many years. We used to buy it from a company called Photoline who were/are the distribution arm of Jessops. Up until about 18 months ago the company was superb and stocked a huge range of accessories, but now they barely exist - they only sell the cameras that they sell in the Jessops shops.

I guess you call it rationalisation.....

I still have a few bits in stock and bought in a second hand complete Kit 2 on Saturday if anyone is interested!

Chris
