I second this, very handy app.
In fact the whole Portable Apps suite is very handy if you're out and about a lot.

thought I'd get back into it a bit..
I knew this existed, but haven't got around to downloading it 'til yesterday.

You download it to your PC, install it direct to a USB drive, and away you go. It actually does work exactly as it says on the tin. It runs as fast as my local copy does, if very slightly slower saving your finished article back to the stick (to be expected anyway).
This means that if you need to work on your images, but don't have the time at home, you can plug it into your work machine, (or your guest's machine, if the conversation dries up..) and PP any images that you've also pre-loaded onto it. It runs entirely from the USB stick, so nothing gets left on the host machine, and it saves you having to explain why there are unauthorised apps on your work machine..
If you already use GIMP, then you won't notice any difference in it at all. If you don't then it's always handy if you're away from home. It only needs 60 odd Mb to run, and space for the photos of course.
Hope that helps,
Cheers
