If you could do it, the cost would be prohibitive. Shooting Polaroid used to cost £1 per shot, so it could well be higher now.
Why not buy a Lego digital camera instead, at least it will look the part. Or you could make custom housing for compacts using boxes, tins, lego bricks or anything else of the period.
A friend has just started beating Tango tins to make a door skin for her camper van...anything is possible.

I think, actually, we're going to use ACR and a preset in Lightroom to get the feel, along with a decent-ish portable printer and nice paper. That way we can re-use them in the lobby here after the event.

Fuji still offer instant film which is interchangeable with a particular Polaroid type (not 100% sure which), it works perfectly well in the Polaroid back for my Bronica but it's eyewateringly expensive at £12 a pack - you can get four rolls of Ilford HP5 for that!
If I knew which Polaroid film it was a replacement for (and which cameras used that film) I wouldn't mind a nice retro instant camera to put a pack through for a bit of fun.
