Planet Bellagio, Lake Como

I was inspired by digitalCG's striking image here so I though I'd give it a try using an existing picture (since it is raining...)

In order to try it out I found an old picture I had taken from a hotel window in Bellagio on Lake Como. Using the technique described here I cropped it so that the left and right edges were able to 'join' and did the stuff described in the link. I used the tree (crudely) to obscure the join with a bit of quick cloning of the branches.

Nowhere near as good as digitalCG's but fun nonetheless, thanks digitalCG for the inspiration!

Odd effect on this, the haze almost makes it look like a planet within a planet... I like it! Glad to have given you a fun idea to pass a rainy morning.

Yes, the haze was a bit thick. The original (pre-cropping) is here and it isn't particularly suitable. The amazing thing is that it works at all
